Preformed Thermoplastic Roll, White 100mm wide (4") x 10m long, is a roadmarking line product made from preformed thermoplastic, which is used to lay permanent lines onto asphalt, concrete or Tarmac surfaces. Standard torch on procedure required.( The pictures show a job done in yellow over a year ago, still perfect and durable ) It is easily laid, durable and meets Highway standards, without the call-out costs associated with screed-applied thermoplastic lines. It has an advanced Plus formulation which retains flexibility even in cooler conditions; this overcomes a major drawback with other methods and enables work to continue through winter months
INSTRUCTIONS  Sweep clean the area to be marked (torch area over to dry any wet bits) lay out the tape with the glass beads up, and cut with sharp Stanley knife, (see pictures) (If a radius is required avery, very quick (careful, it takes some practice) blow over with the torch will soften it enough to bend it) Then just carefully blow over with the gas torch or infra red heater to melt the "tape" to the surface. Fast and cheap, no need to melt pots of white or call out a line marking gang !!
Features & Benefits:
Advanced Plus formula retains flexibility in cooler conditions
Economic way of re-instating short runs after repairs.
No specialist boilers or complicated equipment required, just torch on.
Can be trafficked very quickly, to minimize road closure times Dry in 15 minsAlso available in YELLOW AND RED in "other items" and 150mm wide for "bell mouth" entrances I recommend this product. we have used it for about 5 or 6 years on jobs here in Essex and London and compared with other brands this is by far the best. The best advice I can give is to follow these steps and it will last for years. 1. Dry the strip you intend to mark with a quick flash over with the torch and sweep it over to remove most loose and dusty bits, it doesn't have to be perfect because the thermoplastic melts to liquid and will encapsulate any extra dust or grit etc.
2. Measure carefully and mark your line with a chalk line.
3. Lay out the roll, glass bead side up and position carefully. 4. Hold the gas torch about 10" to a foot above the tape and wave it slowly back and forth as if spray painting a car, after a few goes back and forth you will see it melting to the consistency of spilled candle wax, then move along to the next 3 or 4 feet and continue. When you reach the end go back along the line aiming the torch at the sides to "lock" the edges down.   This type of thermo line doesn't need any primer for concrete or Tarmac surfaces as it has an adhesive ingredient that bonds to asphalt, Tarmac and concrete, even polished concrete. Painted road lines are a temporary fix, I don't recommend any of the paints available, none last very long before looking worn, in my experience over many years this product is by far the finest and is durable and permanent, in fact it's almost impossible to remove once it's laid and my price is the lowest with fast delivery - see my feedback !!
